NIMS Compliance Worksheet Pre-Assessment

Homeland Security Presidential Directive 5 “Management of Domestic Incidents” required that states and local jurisdictions adopt the National Incident Management System (NIMS).  Over the past two years, many State and county agencies have made significant progress in implementing NIMS. The implementation of NIMS across the nation creates a baseline capability that, once established, will be the foundation for our prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery strategies.  During FY 2005 and FY 2006, states were asked to “self-certify” their NIMS compliance.  For FY 2007 agencies were required to complete the performance metrics by State and local jurisdictions. The FY 2008 NIMS Compliance again requires States and local jurisdictions to complete the NIMS Compliance Objectives and Metrics. Both contain objective and metrics for NIMS implementation and compliance for future years.

The FY 2008 NIMS Compliance Objective and Metrics is due by May 15, 2008; full compliance is due by September 15, 2008.

The metric worksheets are in Adobe PDF format, which allow users to complete the worksheet and do a "save as" using Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or higher.
